Breeding healthy kittens is our first priority
We continuously research and read up on various health issues that are common to this breed.
We also ensure that we breed with healthy Queens and Sires, by conducting PK-Def (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency) testing and HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) screening. We also blood-type our breeding cats. Cats coming into our home are isolated until they are screened clear of any parasites.
Due to the advancement of medical testing - we are now also screening for PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) in our breeding cats to help ensure that we will not breed kittens that will go blind from this disease.

The scientists are very close to a genetic test for HCM. We are so dedicated to eliminating this illness, that we have donated, and will continue to donate each year until we succeed ~ together!

Feeding Raw?!?!
Raw food is the best food for your cats. It is a species appropriate diet.
We are considering an option to feed quail.
If you'd like to make your own, a recipe can be found by clicking on the Food Prep tab to the right.
Pet stores and veterinary offices are also seeing the benefits to raw feeding - some of which now also offer ready made raw food in it's frozen state at your local pet store.
Feeding your kitty raw chicken wings and tips will assist in keeping their teeth clean and healthy.
